My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Montana
I received a warning for speeding and didn't realize I was also getting a ticket for failure to have my insurance card on me. It was in my phone but was unable to access the card due to no internet connection. Because of this oversight I didn't pay the ticket. I did not receive notices asking for payment and warning of collections as they were all sent to an old address. In the past when I have received a ticket they always ask if this is the correct address on my license and I tell them the correct address. Thus, when I went to renew my license in California I found out my license had been suspended. I paid the ticket, the interest, and the reinstatement fees. Here is my dilemma. I moved back to Montana and had to change insurance companies. They are charging me a inflated rate due to this suspension. I tried to explain to them what happened but they won't budge. Is there some way to have this resolved in my favor since I didn't intentionally not pay that ticket. Thank you.
