Modification of Custody: Does an 18 Year Old Have to Move With the Custodial Parent

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: New Jersey

I am 18. My parents are divorced and have been for sometime. My mom has decided she wants to move to North Carolina, and the house has sold is closing is in a few weeks. I am in college and I decided to transfer the first week of school because with the whole moving thing I just couldn't see myself not being in New Jersey. I'm not sure what type of custody my mother has, but she makes decisions regarding education and other things and I do see my father on a regular basis. My mother already had papers drawn that my father signed that gave her permission to move out of state with my brother and I. So when going back up north I'd be living with my father in addition to going to school (this is for the sole purpose of me being comfortable, not to get instate tuition, which I have already figured out the situation). But my question is that since I am 18 can I just decided where to go without legal import (appear before a judge or anything) or do new papers have to be drawn up and signed upon agreement?

EDIT: Drawn up papers for relocation permission stated that I am allowed to go up at least once a year to visit my father and that my mom would pay the place fare. And if my dad wanted to come see me he would have to pay his own way.

Also, it is started in the Marital Settlement that the person who is entitled to an Income Tax Exemption on my brother and I was my mother. Would that change if I moved in with my father, but my mother still supported me (i.e. college tuition; father doesn't have enough money to help)?
