Debt Collectors: Private Student Loan Debt Validation

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Texas

So here is my statement:
I received a notice for collection from a CA that states I owe $500 for a private student loan that I never remember taking nor do I have any validation for. I checked my credit report and it's listed there. So I sent a reasonable DV to the CA quoting the FDCPA and the TFC (texas finance code 392.202) and after 33 days they placed a phone call to me demanding payment without first validating the debt to me in writing as I have previously requested, this as I've heard it is against both codes (unless I'm wrong).

There has been no written response from the CA what so ever and they are still claiming on my credit report for the debt. I have since sent them a demand letter to remove the debt based on their refusal to validate the debt and they have until Friday the 13th to respond in time allotted to the demand letter.

Here is my Question:
What are my options here if the following occurs:
1.) They fail to respond in time
2.) They respond with less than adequate validation
3.) They validate the debt

At the time I've sent certified documents with the USPS and I've kept all copies of the records and attempts to collect on this debt with names, employee id's,and times.
