My question involves child support in the State of: Texas
Dose anyone have any ideas on how do get out of arrears for a child whom has been proven not to be my husbands by DNA. The support case originated out of fraud. The mother ended up on welfare and then the child was taken by CPS. Only then would a judge do DNA as he was about to give us a child that was not my husbands and we had never met. When they passed the TX DNA law it was not made retroactive. So, we have a huge bill and a wage garnishment to pay for a child that isn't his. The simple statement she made under oath "there is no other possible father." was a fraud upon the court as well as the welfare system. Is there any way to fix this and get rid of this bill? Especially a way which does not require spending $20,000 to go to a higher court. That would not be financially logical to roll the dice with a bill larger than the child support arrears.
