My question involves personal property located in the State of: Wisconsin
My Cub Cadet Riding lawn mower was stolen a couple weeks ago. I didn't file a police report mainly because I don't have the serial number, so I didn't think they would be any help.
A friend contacted me yesterday and said he knows someone that just got a new Cub Cadet for $200. Doesn't take a detective to figure out how someone gets a $1700 mower for $200. He's going to take a closer look at it to try to determine if it's mine (I'm certain it is).
So, I don't have the serial number, but there are easily identifiable marks on the mower. A dent in the front grill plate, a missing wheel on the mower deck, which could have been replaced by now, but if not I know it's mine.
I have the receipt from purchase, but after hours on the phone there was no way to recover the serial number.
Are the identifiable marks enough to recover the mower If I were to report it to the police?
