Life Estates: Is Life Tenent Required to Tell Remainderman if Abandoning Property

My question involves real estate located in the State of: Michigan

My father left me as remainderman of his property with the 3rd wife as life tenant. Her status as life tenet ends and property goes to me "upon death or remarriage of ______, or upon ______'s failure to occupy said premises for a period of 60 continuous days"

Due to multiple legal reasons and a alcohol dependency if appears her extended family has decided to move her out of the house, about 2 hours away. Is the life tenant or those acting as her caregivers with Power Of Attorney required to notify me that they are abandoning the home?

She has failed any maintenance of the home since my Fathers passing even though she has plenty of financial ability to do so. Her and her family has told me flat out they plan to leave me as big a mess as they can. I have no way to confirm the abandonment as I am 2 1/2 hours from the home. I know Im going to have to sue to get the funds to bring the house back to where it was. If they are abandoning I just want to know so I can start to put this mess behind me!

Any advice is sure appreciated
