My question involves malpractice in the state of: California.
During a routine root canal, my dentist broke a tool off in the root of my tooth, nor my dentist, or the microendontist could successfully remove it. Since this incident, a little over 1 year ago, I have had 2 infections in that tooth, it was confirmed this week by another Endontist, that the broken tool is the source of the infections, and it has caused significant bone loss around that tooth. I was told another root canal was necessary, with a 50/50 chance of infection returning, as the broken tool will not be able to be removed without extensive oral surgery. Other option ,pull tooth and have bridge or implant.
Please advise me on my legal rights, as I have had to take numerous days off work, due to dental visits to treat this tooth, antibiotic treatments causing me gastrointestinal upset, as well as higher risk for ABX resistance, and further treatment and costs of procedures, to repair, or replace tooth.
