My question involves personal property located in the State of: Michigan
I bought a house a few weeks ago and advertised on the MLS was the security system that was inside the house. Nowhere on the purchase agreement was the system mentioned either way. The main unit was plugged into an outlet and several sensors were attached to doors. We closed on the house at 10am and spent the rest of the day moving our stuff in. At 2:30pm that day we locked up the house and went the the hardware store. When we returned a few hours later the security system was gone.
The sellers are claiming that the system was theirs and they had a right to it and brushing over the fact that they came entered the premises without permission using a key they shouldn't have had.
Do I have a case to make them pay for the cost of the security system.
