My question involves real estate located in the State of: California
My neighbor has been aware of his mainline leak for 5 months. Even with the French drains installed on my side of the wall, water is leaking through a retaining wall into our storage garage built into the slope. His house is built 10-15 feet above our foundation. The wall is beginning to bulge because of the water buildup. We've had plumbers, the water dept., and a geologist over to talk to him, and we have shown him the stream of water that is flowing out of the French drain, but he is not taking care of the repair. What are my options? Am I responsible for the repair if the wall to the storage garage collapses? And the inevitable flow of mud into my yard and possibly the house?
