My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California
I am a payroll administrator for a small company of ~200 people. I have been asked to not pay employees overtime or to cut peoples hours when they go over 8 hours for the day. I have brought up that it isn't right or legal - and I was told not to worry because if someone decides to sue I would be covered by the employer. They also make sure supervisors alter the timesheets the employees fill out to make it reflect 8 hours and nothing more. I am just wondering what I can personally do about this. I know it is not right, and I am also uncomfortable with doing this. What should I do, or what CAN I do?
