My question involves guardianship in the State of:Washington...I have a 14yr old developmentally disabled child and am in the process of applying for social security disability for him...during that process SSI sent me several forms to fill out and one that my son is supposed to sign releasing his medical records..I explained to the lady that it is beyond my sons comprehension to understand what is being asked on the medical release form..she told me without him signing the form we can't go further in the application process!! I have an issue with him having to sign something he doesn't understand... Would I have to obtain legal guardianship of my son thru the courts to be able to have my son waived from having to sign legal documents? Or is there a easier way around this?
