My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Tennessee
I got a letter from ARA in Illinois who said they recently obtained and are now the legal owners of a MBNA Bank Account of mine from 20 years ago and they demand I make full payment of $25,365.91. I do not have any records on this nor do I remember this account. It is in my maiden name and I do know I did not have the kind of credit back then to have anything I could of owed for that amount of money. Can they just demand money like that with no proof? What should I do in this situation?
