Speeding Tickets: Speeding 77mph when It Was 65mph

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: West Virginia

I was driving on the right side of the two lane one way side of the highway at around four am. This just happened actually. My clock read 5am so I thought it was later when I left my house to go get cigarettes and a few items for the house. Was doing pretty well, and I've been trying to be really careful when I drive. I was on my way home. I have been trying to locate what the possible consequence could have been or worst case scenario because I totally got lucky. This would have been my first speeding ticket, and I got my first traffic ticket in a few months ago so that would have been bad, two traffic tickets less than three months apart does not look good at all. I'm not sure if I have points or a record of the failure to yield. I was driving down where it goes from 55mph to 65mph. Honestly I think the police officer was already nice, I might have been speeding more than he said. I basically went flying into a speed trap, yes I'm an idiot for doing that. He was sitting in the middle between the two directions of the highway. He was waiting for someone to do exactly what I did. He pulled out as soon as he saw me fly through, I passed him possibly right when it went from 55mph to 65mph. I never do this! I never do that!

So I slowed down when I saw him pull out behind me to 65mph the speed limit. Kept that consistent, and he was right behind me. Some reason I thought, maybe I should move over and let him pass. Was this the biggest mistake? Are you supposed to turn into the left lane when a cop is following close behind you? Well, as soon as I signaled and was about to go into the left lane, the lights were flashing--and I went back to the right lane, and pulled over. I was trying not to cry. I usually go the speed limit or five above. I was being lazy, not intentionally reckless. There were no cars on the road, and I could see far ahead. Obviously not far ahead enough and he had every right to pull me over. This time, when I saw the flashing lights I pulled over immediately onto the curb on the right. Parked. He came to my window and I handed him the registration, insurance, license. I was embarrassed that my car was a bit messy, but I think he could see that I was not impaired or under the influence. I never drive under the influence, that is the most dangerous thing to do. I have not had any DUI or anything, just that one failure to yield ticket is all I have as far as citations of all types. I have no criminal record and I have not gotten a speeding ticket. YAY! I was going 77mph in a 65mph speed limit. I think the reason he didn't write me a ticket was because even though I knew I was wrong, I pulled over immediately, was polite and understanding. I said ok. I waited for about four minutes, he came back gave me back my papers and said, I'm going to give you a warning this time. I thanked him. He said have a nice night, or morning. I wanted to know what the possible consequences could have been to prevent myself from making the same mistake again, and to understand the pretenses.

I just want to know. I want to avoid any traffic violations. I want to keep my driving record clean, and I take it seriously. I just have major ADD. I have a diagnosis of ADHD.
I don't know if that has to do with it, because I have never been in a car accident. I have never caused an accident or hit anything. Somehow managed not to hit a deer.
So I have been trying to locate what the possible penalty would have been if the officer was not in a good mood. I mean he was being nice. I would have pled and paid the fine. I feel like 10 mph over the speed limit could have been a criminal offense, misdemeanor, or I could have had my license revoked. I read that if you have two moving traffic violations within that amount of time, my license could have been revoked?

I really do not think I am a bad driver. I have never had any incidents. My vision issues were recent, and I wear glasses now. But without them, signs are blurry at a distance. I think I am going to get an eye exam today. Otherwise. Because of my ADHD, I have always been slow and cautious--anxious to drive. It took me a while to gain confidence. I do not have high anxiety like I used to thankfully. I have only been driving for two years. I got my license in 2012 and I've had a vehicle since 2013. So I really only have been driving since 2013. BUT, I have not gotten into any car accidents or hit anything. I don't drink. I still might take some driving classes, if I take a driving class and I do have points...can those be taken off? I think I'll do that.
