My question involves restraining orders in the State of: Colorado and California
I currently live in California and my ex, who resides in Colorado, is vindictively seeking a protective order against me even though we don't live in the same state. She had a service processor serve me the papers notifying me that I now had an ex-parte TPO against me and the hearing for it to be made permanent will be in two weeks.
I called the court about a question regarding filing a motion for continuance, and in a voicemail responding to my initial question they also mentioned that I was incorrectly served and she will have to have me re-served. Could someone in the know please tell me the requirements for serving someone in California with a protective order from Colorado?
Thank you in advance!
