My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Flagstaff, Arizona
So my roommate situation turned sour, and now i'm concerned. We all agreed that i would be the one to move out, and i took the steps to do so, however they will not sign me off the lease even though i have vacated the premises, and gave them my key to the apartment. When I asked them when they would sign me off, they informed me that they would not sign me off until their new roommates moved in, and when i asked when they would be moving in they informed me that they first have to get out of their own lease and might not be till November. This concerns me greatly because why should i pay if i'm not living there, and as November gets closer i fear that i will have to pay "my half" of the rent. What can i do? i can't just not pay because my father is a co-signer and his credit score will be affected. is there anything i can do to not pay the rent and keep my fathers credit intact?
