My question involves criminal law for the state of:
MO
I was notified I was the father of the child when he was 13 he is now an adult and in the armed services I didn't know that she was pregnant when we were in college however she told me that the child was not mine I was young and stupid and did not take the steps to make sure that nothing ever happens to come back on me fast forward to today
I've been in prison two times and I am currently on probation for child support when the support first started I was making great money this was before the housing market bust so my support was right around 1100 hrs. a month After the housing market went down I was unable to make those payments that's when the prison term came into play I modified my child support payment however since I was incarcerated when I got out it was impossible to get a job because of the conviction so I'm currently homeless pretty much living day to day
my question is this I am currently out of the country I'm left out of the country legally they release my passport and I moved however since I've moved are falling behind on my child support that currently is a warrant for my arrest because one of my payments I was short by $36 so they put a warrant for my arrest since I got the warrant The employer that I didn't have let me go I have been unemployed for five months this has been taking control of my life for the last 15 years I never had a paternity test the court just modified my child's birth certificate in my absence because the mother said I was the father she works for the state of Missouri children welfare department so she knew all the judges and was able to do this without any problem.
My question is what is the best way to go about making an agreement with the state of Missouri to get this one taken care of and is this possible?
I'm in another country and contemplating marrying a national here so that I can become a citizen however I want to do the right thing odds are I will never ever be arrested in the United States again But I want to do the right thing any information anyone can give me on this would be very helpful
