Getting Fired: Wrongful Termination from Work Study Job

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Michigan

Hello, an incident recently occurred at my university that caused the dismissal of my work study position.

I was in charge of posting snapchat stories (along with blog) for the school that was meant to be directed towards admissions (high school students). I worked for 2 weeks, 10 business days. A total of 34 snapchats were taken and posted. I never received any bad feedback until the day I was fired. The morning of the day I got fired, I received a text message from my boss asking if I posted a certain picture and I responded yes. She then followed by saying what a horrible job I had been doing and that she had received many complaints about it. Then she said to come into her office later on in the day, so I did. Next thing you know, I was fired. Again, she said the reason I was fired was because I had a misspelled word in the post and that my "overall" posts were not of good quality. Without any warning or discussion I was fired. I asked for another chance, but she said no. Can I do anything regarding this matter? I feel that I was wrongfully terminated being that I was given no warning.

I spoke to the lady in charge of the work study supervisors, and explained what had happened but she had no solution to this. On top of that, she also mentioned that my boss said the major reason for my dismissal was that I was, supposedly, her "office assistant" and never showed up to the office, EVER. I have a photo of a document that says my position was only snapchat and nothing more (written by my boss herself) to contradict her accusation. Its pretty obvious that if I were actually an office assistant that didn't show up to the office once for the whole 10 business days I worked, that there would be at least some kind of written email or text asking why I haven't been showing up or even firing me after at least a few days being missed.

Another thing that is of concern to me is that they mentioned how it is a majorly UNACCEPTABLE thing to misspell a word on a public snapchat for everyone to see, and that their main concern is how the school is portrayed, and I completely agree. But even so, my boss' supervisor actually screenshotted the post with the misspelled word instead of replying, or making it evident for my boss, to tell me to fix it ASAP, and instead used it to just tell on me and get me in trouble.

Now, they have hired other employees and I still follow their social media; funny thing is, these employees have misspelled 2 things twice in 2 posts that I have documented as well. Is it fair that I was fired for misspelling a word, though someone else can make a mistake without the same consequences?

I am not looking for this job back. But acknowledging all of these factors, I DO believe I was wrongfully terminated.

Any thoughts on what my next steps should be? Do I have a valid case if I wanted to take this legal?

I would appreciate the help, Thank you!
