My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: Minnesota and the province of Ontario.
I am a US citizen living in Canada with my Canadian wife. I have Canadian permanent residence. We are having our first child in a few months. We haven't had any will made before so we are working on that now.
Our definite plan is for me to pass on US citizenship to our children, meaning we would go to the consulate and get the proper paperwork done.
My question is about choosing a guardian for our child(ren) in the case where we would both pass away. Our best option is to choose someone from my side of the family who all live in the US. Would it pose a problem for our children to have to change residency if they are dual citizens?
