Service and Repair: Dealership Didn't Fix My Problem but Charged Me Anyway

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Alaska
I took my Jeep Wrangler to a recommended Transmision repair shop because of a hard shift between first and second gears, Technician there said that diagnostic codes indicated that the tranny was overheating, upon further inspection, he determined that tranny was not overheating , he told me to take it to the dealer as the problem was the computer , not the internal tranny. He gave me a written statement as to his findings, which I gave to the dealer whenI took it to the dealer .after a few days dealer called and said tranny needed an overhaul and a new radiator, they overhauled and replaced raidiator, I picked Jeep up, paid the $3700.00 bill and discovered that the hard shift between first and second still existed, I took it back to the transmission shop , they put the diagnostic machine in and it pulled the same overheat codes, I took it back to dealer, they kept it for the day, called me at closing time saying they could find no problem and diagnostic pulled no codes, I picked it up, took it to another auto repair shop and had them put the diagnostic on it, it pulled the same overheat codes. I feel that the dealership ignored the tranny shops recommendation and overhauled my tranny, I paid 3700 dollars and still have the problem I started with. I want a refund so I can take the Jeep elsewhere for repair.
