Traffic Court Issues: What is the Process for an Out-Of-State Ticket

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Georgia

I was on my way home to Virginia, from my brother's Funeral in Florida. As I am heading to a gas station, there was a Yield sign in which I figured I could make it to the other side before the oncoming car. Well, my mind wasn't paying attention as the car was coming actually closer than I expected. He had to press the breaks on me, not hard, but still, enough to let me go to the other side of the road. No accidents, luckily, but an Officer saw the situation.

I'm a new driver and even though I should have known the rules of the road, this is my first violation of anything what-so-ever. This week has already been hard on me, and I would like to better "solve" this situation. Get it out of the way. I understand that I should have yield completely and I am not saying that this is not my fault. I take accountability for my actions.

The officer tells me that I do not have to come to court (since I live in VA) and gives me very little information.I tried asking a question and he brushes me off. I'm already stressing and it would have been nice to have someone assist me.

To make a long story short, he puts the ticket as a SPEEDING one. I go to the court's website and type in my Citation Number into the box to pay for the ticket. It says no ticket found and that I should check back later. How long will it take to go in?
I want to pay for it and move on.

I'm trying to avoid calling them as I have MAJOR anxiety. Talking to people is not my thing, but since I am 19, I know I should try to be an adult for once. I do not want my family to know and I wish I could seek for their help, but strict families are drastic. They don't even know that I drove alone to go to Florida. (But I won't give out any more personal details.)

So, I'm on my own for this one. I'd like LEGAL advice and information on how an out-of-state traffic violation works. It would mean a LOT to me and have me feeling stress-free.
