Use of a Private Parking Lot to Avoid Construction Intersection

I was pulled over and cited for using a private parking lot (Burger King) to avoid a stoplight. The story is that I was traveling down Olive and El Mirage (Arizona) and the intersection was under construction. The barricades funneled me (and at least 50 cars on both ends) through this Burger King. No areas for a legal u turn, the only guidance was through the Burger King. It was a traffic jam going in there and out of the 100 cars in it I was pulled over and cited. I had explained to the officer that I was corralled this way by means of the construction barricades (as cars continue to get directed and funneled through the parking lot). I thought it was a joke because the intersection was inoperable due to construction and the barricades only led in one direction. I told the officer that I would see him in court (after trying to reason with him). I requested his Sargent which was on site as well (there were 3 police sitting in the parking lot and basically shooting fish in a barrel). After I was caught, I notifed the Burger King manager and when I came out, the police had all moved off the property and onto the public road. Aside from being pulled over for this which I know is illegal (if you try to avoid a red light) which in my case the intersection was under heavy construction and the detour was set up by the construction company to lead cars to this Burger King (the only way). I don’t mind paying for the ticket if I did wrong but I was entrapped and picked out. On the other end the officer was very unprofessional and I am currently filing a formal complaint against the officer (not his Sargent). Anyways, I have taken pictures, consulted an attorney in the family that absolutely told me to fight this. I just need tips or tricks because this is unacceptable from our police force. I wish I had the full time to explain how the officer profiled me and tried to add more violations because he was upset that I was exposing the clear discrepancy.
