Default Judgments: How to Set Aside a California Default Judgment Based on Non-Service

My question involves court procedures for the state of: California
I was sued by a creditor in California and had my wages garnished. Of course I found out by noticing money out of my paycheck . My issue is that The proof of service says I was served in California but I lived in Alaska for over a year at the time of service. Proof of service also shows an address I never lived at. How do I go about having the judgment set aside do to improper service? Can't afford to fly to California and appear in court for this? Can I file in the state I work and live in "Alaska" What's my best course of action as the proof of service is a complete fraud. Plus do I have any recourse? Thank You for your responses
