My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Oregon
I was following a bike cop, watched him roll through a stop sign without stopping. My speedometer had litterally gone out on my way to work that morning (no lie) so I was following this cop at the same distance. Matching his speed the whole time. He qujckly pulled off to the side of the road, flipped on his lights as I passed him (still going the same speed, because why would I speed up? ) When he pulled me over he gave me a ticket for speeding 86 in a 55 zone. When I told him about my speedometer and that I was matching his pace he told me he was only going 77 (which btw is still 22 over the speed limit) and how could I possible be going faster than him while following at a constant rate? Anyways I also told him about watching him roll through the stop sign. (Which he rudely denied) He gave me a ticket for $440. Btw hes a cop from the next county over. Not sure why he was on a backroad in a different county. And the entire time even though I had explained that if i was speeding its because i was following him and had no way of knowing he kept asking if i really thought i was going the speed limit as if he wanted me to admit fault. (I didnt) My ticket is missing my drivers Indentification number (license number) and my entire description is not only way off from what I look like but also does not match my license. Im wondering if I can get my ticket thrown out on any of these basis? (Missing info, cop at fault because I was following at his speed, radar calibration wasn't current, description was wrong)
Btw does anyone know how often cops in oregon (specifically lane county if possible) are required to calibrate their guns? Anything is helpful.
