My question involves education law in the State of: Georgia
My children have attended private middle and high school for 3 years. We are unable to afford the tuition for the UPCOMING year. We are current on all past charges. The school is refraining from releasing the kids records to public school until we pay 50% of the tuition due for the upcoming year since we registered them in May. What rights do I have to obtain the records. I am vaguely aware of Humphreys Law (??) about Fed funds being used, requiring the release of records. I don't know if the school accepts federal funds but I know they accept the funds from the Georgia Educational Expense Tax credits.
What can I do to get the records without paying for a year's tuition we didn't receive and can't afford.
