My husband has a vintage Ford Bronco that belonged to his late brother. After years of setting up, we took it to a friend's uncle to restore. It was to have fresh paint, new upholstery, engine overhaul, etc. We told the mechanic we were in no hurry and paid $8,000 upfront for the work and agreed to pay the rest when the vehicle is finished. That was over 3 years ago. He took it down to the metal and the last time we stopped in to check (a couple of months ago) the entire bronco was covered in surface rust from sitting up without paint. We have asked repeatedly when the Bronco will be complete but we keep getting the run-around. The reason he has not finished is because he will take high-paying jobs over ours and puts ours on the back burner. I realize we told he we were in no hurry but 3 1/2 years seems a bit long to me. What legal options do we have?
