From my google-fu I have seen that some states have ruled medical equipment such as CT and MRI taxable and some states have ruled otherwise. The IRS also recently issued a moratorium on what I assume was a federal sales tax of 2.3%. I can't seem to find any information for California except that it doesn't appear to be listed on their list of exemptions for sales and use tax. Am I correct then in assuming that it is a taxable transaction in California?
Edit: to be more specific in case there is confusion, I am referring to the sale of the equipment, not the service/examination itself.
