My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of California, San Diego County
I recently got a ticket for jaywalking, "Notice to Appear", and the citation shows a date that I need to appear "on or before", which is in March 2018.
I appeared in court about a week ago (got the infraction in Jan 2018) and the clerk informed me that the case had not been entered into the system, and there was nothing he could do.
Fast forward 3 weeks before the court due date (on or before), I checked online and the case has filed for this infraction, but no option to pay or schedule and appointment online. No bail amount has been posted on the infraction either.
My question is - when I show up, will I be able to pay the "bail" on the spot. I really don't want to have to go back to court for such a petty crime.
It appears that there is a "Trial by written declaration" option, but I do not want to go this route either. I am okay with paying the "bail" or "fine", and having this be over with, but the original citation says I need to appear.
Thanks in advance
