My question involves business law in the state of: Florida
Hello,
1. My name is Josh Brooks. I am in the process of retiring from the Army, and my Wife, Julie, and I have moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida. During the last three years of my Army career, Julie and I started and grew a profitable set of real estate investing companies, which focus on buying vacant land at a deep discount, then selling it for cash or Seller financing.
2. Because the business is profitable, and also because we have refined and largely systematized it, we have decided to make this our primary occupation in retirement.
3. Additionally, the size, value, and potential complexity of the properties in which we are dealing continues to grow.
4. For the reasons cited in paragraphs 2 and 3 above, I feel like it is time that I bring in some skilled legal support to help us ensure that we are doing things properly and legally, so that we do not disservice our Sellers, Buyers, or Investors; and so we do not run afoul with any sort of regulators.
5. Here is a comprehensive list of the legal support that I think I need:
5a. I would like an experienced Lawyer to review our process.
5b. I would like an experienced lawyer review our documents.
- Marketing Copy.
- Purchase Agreement (us buying from a Seller).
- Investing Agreement (our agreement with an Investor).
- Sales Agreement - Cash (us selling to a Buyer).
- Sales Agreement - Seller Financing (us selling to a Buyer).
5c. I would like an experienced Lawyer provide us some guidance regarding from whom (e.g. accredited Investors, friends and family, et cetera) and how (e.g. debt, equity, percent of net profit, et cetera) we can solicit and receive investment capital.
6. For what sort of Lawyer(s) am I looking? Contract law, business law, real estate law? Any guidance and recommendations in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
