My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of CA: The officers (CA Highway Patrol) pulled me over on the freeway, and one of them alleged to have seen me using my cell phone while driving. The funny thing is, I had forgotten my cell phone at home that day, so it wasn't even with me at the time (which my cell records from Verizon clearly indicate). For what it's worth, they also misspelled my name on the ticket. That being said, how do I successfully contest this ticket? Is it simply the officer's word against mine? Please advise. Thank you.
