My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California. Can a police office use radar to issue a speeding ticket to someone traveling on public roads while the police officer sits, or is positioned to observe the violation from private property?
A local police office likes to sit in a spot that I believe to be private property and where a sign for that private property obstruct the view of him from on coming traffic traveling on public roads. When he observes someone speeding using his radar he then proceeds from the private property to the public road to issue a ticket. Is this legal?
Thank you.
