Unemployment Benefits: What is Considered "Suitable" Employment in the State of Oklahoma

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Oklahoma

Hello all,

I have been receiving unemployment benefits for three weeks now after I was laid off from my previous job. I have been making the required amount of contacts to potential employers and I have been filing my claims each week. I ran into a bit of a problem this week. I applied for a position that was posted to a job board. On the job posting, the position was listed as full-time. I was called up for a phone interview, and then an in-person interview later on. The employers verbally offered the job to me, and I declined for two reasons. One reason was that the employer informed me at the last minute that the position was actually part-time, only offering me about 30 hours of work per week. I regret that I did not ask about this during my phone interview in order to avoid wasting my time as well as the employer's time. The second reason that led me to decline this position would be that one of the job duties would be to regularly fill in for the company's receptionist. This is in a larger office building and I was informed that a psychiatrist had a practice there. Apparently, the receptionist as well as one of my interviewers have both been threatened as some of the psychiatric patients entering the building have threatened to shoot them for various reasons in the past. Since this has happened on multiple occasions, I did not feel as though I would be entirely safe working at this particular location. Other than this, the combination of pay and hours that were offered to me are significantly lower than wages that I have earned in positions that I have previously held. I keep reading that you must accept "suitable" work or you will lose your benefits, but I cannot seem to locate any resources online that define the term "suitable", at least in the state of Oklahoma. I plan to call the OK unemployment office in the morning, but I would really appreciate any help with this that anyone can offer. I am getting very stressed out at the thought that I may lose my benefits entirely over this.

In the Oklahoma Unemployment Insurance booklet that was given to me, there is a line of text that says "You must continue to be able, available for, and willing to work the same number of hours that you worked during your base period. You must also be willing to accept part-time work if it is work you applied for and it is offered. Temporary work can also be determined as suitable work."

Thanks in advance!
