My question involves criminal records for the state of: Virginia (Fairfax County)
3 years ago I was charged with Malicious Wounding with intent to kill/injure, the charge was lowered to misdemeanor Assault and Battery. I paid the client a civil settlement and the case was dismissed through satisfaction to the pursuant (or satisfaction of the court). I am able to have the arrest record sealed? It was dismissed so I believe it wouldn't be an expungement. The other two charges in the same incident were dismissed as well (Probation Violation & Public Intoxication). I am unclear to the VA law on this case. I am trying to see if it is worth getting a second opinion because the attorney that handled the original case seemed to be dismissive of my inquiry, saying it wasn't possible or not worth it.
