However, this was two years ago and I wanted to make sure that the advice given therein still holds.
I got an out-of-state speeding ticket for 79/60 in Virginia. According to NC DMV point laws, a license will be suspended if speeding in excess of 15mph over 55mph speed limit. However in the above linked thread, @flyingiron states:
"... NCDOT doesn't assign either SDIP or DMV points for out of state convictions UNLESS that offense if committed in North Carolina would have resulted in a suspension. The only speeding offenses that result in suspensions in North Carolina are more than 15 MPH or more than 80 MPH. For 14 over there's no suspension, no points at all."

Is it still true that if I can have the conviction reduced to 14mph over (ie, 74/60) then the NC DOT will not report the incident to the NC DMV nor the NC DOI?
