My question involves paternity law for the State of: California
Im currently 11 weeks pregnant. I went out with my best friend once and got really drunk and blacked out, I dont remember a thing. Well now I know that was that night I got pregnant from. Ive told my husband and apologized for my mistake and he decided to stick with me because he is my soulmate and I love him with everything in me. He has chosen to raise this child like his own. The thing is, the sperm donor knows Im pregnant and knows it could be his kid because he told his cousin "im 99% sure that kids mine." i found out that we had sex that night thru my best friend which is his cousin. But when I asked him of anything had happened he told me no. So he knows because I told him I wasnt with my husband around that time and he still told me no. The thing is his cousin my best friend wants to do a dna test and if it comes out positive she wants to tell her aunt so they can be there for the baby. I do not want that. I want nothing to do with the sperm donor and I do not need his pitty party. My husband and I are going to raise this child as if it were ours and thats all I care about is rebuilding my marriage and my baby. My question is, can the aunt or the cousin come after me later on? My husbands name will be on the birth certificate. If they wanted to be in the kids life wouldnt it have to be the sperm donor trying to take me to court? Or can the mom and cousin do something about it too? Need advice.
