Private Sales: Buyer Placed a Deposit After an Online Sale but Has Not Picked Up the Merchandise

My question involves business law in the state of: Alabama

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I looked around and figured this section would be best.

So story goes, around the start of november 2015 i posted a item for sale on a local swap page online, I "sold" the item, the buyer lives in the same state but about 200 miles from me. he put down a deposit of half through paypal and we agreed he would pay the other half in person when he picked the item up. that was in november or late october 2015. he said he would be out of town till around mid december and would pick the item up then in person. fast forward to december and he never made arrangements to get the item. always gave the excuse of "yes let me figure out a good time to come", Well that game has gone on to now (2/01/16) and he still has made no effort to come get the item. I need the item gone now as I'm moving and the item is very bulky. What are the laws reguarding this situation? I would prefer to be able to tell him he has a week or so to come get it and if not I will be re-selling the item and not refunding his deposit. Can i legally do this? it was a private sell. is there some sort of statue of limitations has ran out for him?? it was all stated in the notes of the paypal deposit. Thanks. -KJ.
