My question involves a child custody case from the State of: TEXAS
My son lives 57 miles/1 hour away, he is a 14 YO Freshman boy, in band, baseball, has 2 younger siblings that live with me and my wife (7 & 9), and my Ex and I have been divorced for over 10 years and we have not been tightened in 12.
My Ex tries to schedule EVERYTHING on my weekends for this last decade, tries to cut my summers short, convinces my Son to come up activities on Friday’s so it cuts my time short, doesn’t tell me about days off, school doesn’t inform me of much, and now Band Friday games have eaten into my time again...
Now mind you, my Son never has much to say about band, doesn’t want me to buy him a drum at the house to practice nor ever looks excited to play, every time I ask him about it he treats it like another class “it was ok...”.
What kills me is I have 3 kids so I try to keep them together as much as possible but it is very frustrating that when he misses a weekend he comes back violent and mean towards his younger siblings, and once he settles down he plays immature and I have to scold him on things I shouldn’t have to do for a teenager (showering, taking his meds, sleeping in dirty clothes, hitting his 5 year + younger siblings, speaking up, eating his vegetables, coming his hair, brushing his teeth)...just to name a few. I DO NOT even have to remind my 7 & 9 YO of these things. The biggest thing is his lying. He consistently lies to me and when I tell his Mother, she will NOT punish him on her end so we start over every weekend. NOW he has his punishment during MY weekend. I could go on & on but I am only talking about the most recent events. THIS is my weekend and they both stop answering my calls on Wednesday. I had to call the school to find out he had a Game Friday and marched and a big competition (UIL) this morning. Still haven’t heard from her or him. Writing this I got carried away so I will also make this my own post.
