Unlawful Stop, Cited for No Proof of Ins, Vehicle Impounded for Expired Registration

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California. Reason given for stop was having been illegally parked in a 7-11 parking lot. I had a Dealers Notice of Sale properly displayed on my windshield. Officer stated he would not acknowledge the document as " those are easy to forge". Cited me for " Failure to show proof of Financial Responsibility" then impounded my vehicle for outdated registration. I was not cited for the outdated registration. I had not been illegally parked and the Dealers Notice of Sale was valid and the Vehicle was insured. I requested a trial. I did not receive the information I requested during informal Discovery until 3 days before the trial. I asked for and was granted a continuance and also filed a Motion to Suppress Evidence due to the unlawful stop. The suppression hearing will be held at the next trial date.
Here is my question:
Since I was not cited for the outdated registration which was the reason for the impounding of my vehicle, will the Suppression Motion ( if granted) have any bearing on the impound? Will I have to pursue that as a civil rights violation in Federal Court?
Thank you for reading my thread.
