My question involves real estate located in the State of: TN
We purchased a home on 5 acres with heavy brush and tree growth. The time spent in the home has been approximately 45 days involving unpacking as well as removing the brush to limit critter havens. That said, we found old construction materials rotting around the property and undercovered damage to an existing metal shed and its roof which was not disclosed. Included in our discovery has been rolled up barbwire in bushes. Further, the home inspector did not annotate outside sealing material was used to repair a leaking window on the inside of the house, i.e. RV gumming material and weatherstripping plus the chimney being repaired with the same type of material on the outside. First, are we responsible for the cost to remove the previous owners junk from our property which we would not have discovered in our first view of the property and the condition of the heavy foilage? And second, can we redress some of the repair issues after closing since the home inspector failed to properly indicate them in an inspection? I find this absurd and shoddy because the seller's broker response was more or less - tough, you own it now and should have been addressed before closing. Thank you.
