Hi, I am in California. I need some advice on car loan and ownership laws. My friend basically forced me into cosigning a car for him. The salesman told me that I needed to be put as the primary borrower and him as the cosigner to ensure my friend a car. My friend took it home with him promising he will pay every month. At the time, he had a good job. Now , he doesnt want to pay and he drives the car. Doesnt have the car insured, doesnt pay for the dmv fees, and owes me money. The car title at the dmv is at "or" ownership. What can I do to take the car back or refinance it under his name?
