I understand that California residents are required to have current California auto registration.
If a CA resident is "caught" operating a vehicle with current other state registration, can the car be impounded?
It looks to me that the worst that could happen is a nominal fine under CA VC 5204(A) but I am curious if anyone knows for sure.
