My question involves insurance law for the state of: Maine
My final day of work was on 9/22/2017. My pay date is listed as 9/29 and premiums were deducted. I knew my insurance was supposed to terminate that day also. I went to the pharmacy to have prescriptions filled, they were out of the particular meds and did not fill until 9/25. I pick it up an pay a $5 deductible.
On a letter dated 10/02/2018 from carefirst I get a bill for $211. A call into the collection company reveals my insurance was cancelled retroactively and now I owe them.
Is this legal? Do I owe them?
Thank you.
