My question involves a marriage in the state of: Nebraska
I recently filed for divorce and after going through bank records I realized my wife signed a check from my insurance company that was issued to repair damages to my roof and fence and other exterior damages from a weather event this past June. She paid 6500 to the roofing company and 1000 to the fencing company and 2490.80 remains unaccounted for. I was able to make this determination because I requested current billing information from the construction companies and then requested a copy of the deposited check be sent to me from my insurance company. My wife deposited this in her private account and signed my name on the check. She is a felon for doing this exact same thing but on a much larger scale and served no jail time because it was her father's company. Would this be worth pursuing in a criminal court instead of a divorce court?
The check was made out to me and my mortgage company (wife isn't on the mortgage or insurance) I bought the house before we were married.
Thanks
