ok so this may be quite long. im 28 im from Louisiana 9 years ago i was working at Lowes Home improvement and was stealing money out of the cashier. the amt was 837.05. lowes pressed charges of course. i was told by the police officer who took me in saying since it was under 1,000 it shouldnt be felony theft. long story short the judge ruled since i was a 1st offense that charge be brought down to misdemeanor theft with probation. now i live in texas and seeking employment at the state hospital and ive always wondered how do i answer that question on applications because its always worded different . however my question is can this charge bar me from employment especially being years old and can i ever receive an expungement being the probation was closed unsatisfactory. meaning i couldnt pay is back because i had no job
