Ticket Errors: 6 Year Old Speeding Ticket with an Incorrect Last Name

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Texas

Last August (2017) i received a letter in the mail from a law office representing Fayette County about a speeding ticket I received in November 2011. It says that if I didn't pay the amount listed that there will be a warrant for my arrest. I called the Justice of the Peace to make sure its legit and of course it was. When I received the ticket I called for weeks to find out how I could pay for it and the officer never submitted it to my knowledge. After 3 weeks I just thought he wasn't going to turn it in. I never received anything in the mail about it until this past August. Now I have to pay for a speeding ticket AND an extra fee because I didn't appear in court for the date that they set it for. But the most interesting part is that the name that they have is not the name that was on my license at the time they issued the ticket. Its completely different. It was a last name that I went by at a much younger age (my mothers last name) but legally it was never my last name.

Is there anything that I can do to contest this?
