Custody and Visitation Issues: Was Told I Was Not the Father 5 Years Ago and Now Im Told I Am

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Maryland
I was told 5 years ago that I was not the father of a child. There were 4 potential people it could have been. I was fine with that because the woman in question had a bad drug habit and if I was the childs father I would have taken custody instantly. The man she was dating was put on the birth certificate when the child was born and is still listed on the birth certificate. I also was reminded when the child was 2 years old that I was not the father. Now the child is 5 years old and the woman is stating she believes I am the childs father. She has kicked her drug habit, which is awesome, and is about to get married to another man (Not the guy on birth certificate) I am currently engaged to a wonderful woman and we have a one year old together. I feel that I have missed out on the most important years to connect to a child and the child has started a fatherly relationship with the man the woman is about to marry. I am wondering if I have to take responsibility for this child? I feel that it is not fair that the woman can decide whenever she wants who she wants to be the father in order to suit her needs. If I knew 5 years ago that the child was mine then I obviously would have lived my life differently and probably taken custody and raised this child but that was not an option. Do I have any legal options since I am not named on the birth certificate and was told this information 5 years after the child was born? The legal options I am asking is if I can refuse to take a paternity test since I believe it is in the best interest of the child to be raised by the man he believed to be his father. Like I stated it doesn't same fair or right that this woman can decide when she wants someone in the childs life and then force this on me cuz she finally wanted to fess up.
