My question involves a marriage in the state of: California.
Divorce process started, we live in Berkeley, my spouse is the bread winner, I'll be getting alimony, but I still won't be able to afford living in Berkeley. My spouse wants to stay but job has no requirements for location (works from home and travels). We are selling the house and splitting the proceeds. We are both going to buy another house.
Being that my spouse's job has no requirement to stay in the area and I cannot afford to stay here. Can I demand that I be able to move with the children and co parent can simply relocate to the same place I go to? Keep in mind that the new location is where both of our families reside and cost of living is 1/2 of here. Great schools, community, no downside apart from not being in CA.
