Can I Sue Someone for Taking Advantage

I had a friend, who i must have given easily 40k over the past 8 months, truth is, i fell in love with this woman, and i fell hard, and she knew it. Now i work as a fisherman in the arctic, so i do make a bit of money, but i am away for 5 weeks at a time and then i have five weeks free, before i have to go to work again, so I'm always away, anyway this woman, didn't make a lot if money, so she would ask me money for example, i cant afford to get some presents for my family at christmas, so i would transfer money to help her, she would tell me she loved me, but then everytime i went to sea, and came back she would say "that we can't pick up where we left off" and i would spend the next 5 weeks trying to get her to love me, by helping her out like paying her rent or etc. All of which are on my bank statements and credit card statements, i even paid for her to have driving lessons, and go so far as helping her friends out, anyway I'm looking for advice as too what i can do? Because that 40k is a rough estimate, as it could very well be a lot higher than that
