My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: California

Im sure im not the first but I really dont know where else to look for help
Before we start, let me define 3 people
A: Legal Owner of car
B: Seller of car, friend/spouse of A, owns a auto shop
C: Employee of B
Recently (12/16) I bought a car from private seller on CL. I was talking mostly to C. Went to meet up and check out the car, did test drive everything. C told me that B drives the car to meetings.
I thought the car was find and no major problem. Decided to buy the car.
When we were doing the trade, C gave me a outdated pink slip to sign (which i was not aware of). The pink slip has A's name on it, 100k Miles lower than actual. A's signature is on the paper as owner. No biggies, C signed off the pink slip and dated it.
I paid the money, no bill of sale, I got the car key and left
On the following work day (12/18 this Monday), I went through all the trouble to smog check, paid registration (expired 10 months) + late fee. Went to DMV, the agent told me there is a lien holder showing on their system and therefore I can't do title transfer. I would need an updated pink slip with lien holder's signature on it or release letter from lien holder to do the transfer. There is no lien holder listed on the pink slip anywhere
I informed both B and C. They told me they will look into it. Throughout the week, i tried to get an update on the situation, C went from telling me "B is working on it" to "i'm trying to get a hold of my boss B" and B just turned irresponsive. I feel I could be involved in title jumping fraud :wallbang:
TL'DR: seller of car sold me a car on behave of someone else. I spent money in the car for registration and smog but cant transfer title. I need updated pink slip and seller is not giving too much of a shit
What's the best course of action i should take? Im running out of patience
