My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Michigan
My roommate and I had a falling out and moved out. I've been paying rent and utilities still, but I have ran into financial trouble and am behind in both rent and utilities. I have made my leasing company and landlord aware of the issue and my intent to sublease. But my roommate says they're going to consult an attorney and file for small claims court to pay her back rent and utilities. I have lived at the address longer than her and all the utilities are in my name. I just want to know what she actually can do, if anything?
