My question involves personal property located in the State of: CA
I have lived on my property for over 20 years. There is no mention of any kind of road maintenance in the paperwork. The road is a dirt road with about 15 properties coming off of it. Recently some neighbors have gotten together and discussed paving the road. I didn't move to the country to live on a paved road, and although the road needs some maintaining (which I have helped with in the past) I am not interested in having the road paved, nor can I afford to participate in it. I have tried researching if the road is owned by certain properties (I have an easement on my property with no mention of partial road ownership), but have not been successful in locating that information. My question is can I be forced to participate in paying to have the road paved?
